Well you've picked most of the places I get inspiration from! The other is a new one suggested to us at the London Modern Quilt Guild by Heather Stewart is magazine ads! Look at the layouts, the colour blocking etc. Amazing.
I get my inspiration from my stash! I buy a lot of remnants at Joann's, since they're cheap and within bike riding distance. It gives me the chance to explore new patterns, colors, and textures - and since I'm still new to quilting, even just shapes (like hexagons!?) can be inspiring!
I get my inspiration from my daughter these days and the books that we read over and over and over again. This means I have been making mostly kiddie quilts lately :)
Great inspiration! Thanks for sharing!
I have lots of inspiration from most of the same places you suggest but there just isn't enough time in my non-working hours to accomplish all of my ideas. Wish I didn't need to sleep or work :) Thanks for your ideas!
I have been getting inspiration from my family,But I think some point I would like to try A scene quilt, Im not sure if there is another name for them! Like someone else said so many ideas and not enough hours in the day.
Thank You Shawna
Take Care And I wish you Good Luck with your Surgery!!

Awesome ideas! You must be an amazing woman to think of all these ideas, and dealing with your issues! Thanks for thinking of your 'fans'!!!!
I love your inspiration ideas. I have some glass panels beside my front door with different angles and textures. When the sun comes in just right the display of colors and shapes inspires me. There are interesting colors and textures everywhere -- if only we had time to turn all these inspirations into quilts!
For inspiration I either look through my fabrics or sit and flick through all my quilting magazines (too many!). It's a great excuse to sit down with a cuppa.
Good luck on your surgery! I get my inspiration from my fellow bloggers.. I look and look and look at the beautiful quilts that are being made and although I am very slow at making quilts.. I love to dream about them and think about what I will make next. I also read the quilting magazines over and over again.. I read them in the bathtub while soaking..LOL. I just dream of what is next.. who knows what my developing skills will allow me to make next..
I have been inspired by a piece of ribbon for my next quilt for my son. I find patterns and pictures will often inspire what sort of quilt design I will use. There are so many lovely fabric lines out there at the moment, my biggest dilemma is what lines to choose. But what a sweet dilemma to have. I love the inspiration you have suggested above in your photos.
Sorry to hear you have to have surgery. You still rock when it comes to your fabric store. May your family stay safe and well too. Sending healing hugs your way. Jacinta
I get inspired by family, friends, fellow bloggers and my magazines, which is why I have such a stash. I have all these ideas and so little time. Good luck with your surgery!
Today my inspiration is Shawna! I actually sat down and sewed for the first time since Christmas. I thought of all the great ideas Shawna gives us! And I thought of all she has going on this week! And it motivated be to get busy on my Basic Ease piecing. So Thank You to Shawna for today's inspiration! :-) Thanks for being you!
My inspirations comes from my grandchildren, from the simple things they do in life and the fun in doing it! Ex-sample >> like, my older grand-daughters & grand-sons love to draw & also snapping photo's of nature, birds, butterflies, snails, snakes, trees & flowers, also of items laying around the yard or house etc! My smaller grand-children, like coloring & water paints & dooling! This, and much more of what children do inspires me, this just brings the child out of me to be creative in making wonderful scappy type quilts!Just simply being a kid make you feel free of not worry about color out side the line!Thank-you for inspiring us to think of what make us enjoy life! Bea.
My quilting friends & I just got home from a week of exploring 20 different quilt shops near the Oregon coast. So, we are all inspired and have added to our stash, so can't wait to get together on Monday to quilt again! (I might have to feel the new fabric and patterns today, though!!)
I hate to hear you are struggling, I will be in prayer for your family. He knows the situation. My inspiration often comes from the beautiful place I live!Thank you for a great post.
Sorry to hear about your family and the surgery. Hope things would be o.k soon. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Hope your surgery goes well...and that your son is doing ok
Inspiration....I think it is now from my embroidery designs ;)
My inspiration comes from so many places, but mostly I think it comes from God. God is the creator of all things, and I think He places people, struggles, joys, beauty in my path daily to inspire me. Other people and how they give of themselves inspires me to want to give also. I guess that is why for the past 9 months almost all of my quilts have been donated quilts for benefits, fundraisers, domestic abuse shelter, etc.. Lately my inspiration also comes from two families I know who have given up everything and moved to Africa to work with orphans in Kenya and Rwanda. Hearing their stories inspires me to press on past my own pains and trials to give to those who are hurting more than me. I struggle a lot with my health, but one thing God has taught me over the past few years, is that someone is always struggling more. And even if it just a little, you always have something you can give.
Right now I am giving my prayers to you and your family as you prepare for your surgery and as your son recovers physically and emotionally from his accident. God's blessings on you and your family!
My thoughts and prayers are for your good recovery and peace. Thanks for the reminders on inspiration - especially the look up.
I get inspiration from my fabric stash. All I have to do is go in my quilting room and start looking around and I always find something colorful and fun to work on! Hope all is well with your family very soon and get well wishes for the surgery!
