BIG Apologies and Winners of our Recent Giveaways

First, let me apologize for this taking so long.

I have been trying to get back into the "swing of things" after surgery but, I am not doing a very good job.

So I had to get some help.

Thankfully my husband Mike has jumped right in and has been incredible!! I think some of you have already spoken to him :)

We just celebrated our one year anniversary on the Fourth of July and I feel lucky just to be with him!!

I also hired a beautiful young lady named Kayla. She is part of our family and I love her dearly :)

She gave me the best present a girl could ask for 4 1/2 months ago... A grand-baby born on my birthday.

Super cute, right?

Back on subject Shawna....

Between the two of them, things are beginning to get much better.

BUT you know what is even better than that?

I get to post and talk to my friends again! I have missed you all more than you can imagine and I hated not being able to keep up with you guys daily.

Second, we need winners from the Strawberry Fields Giveaway!

This was probably one of my favorite giveaways because I learned so much about you and how you got started sewing and quilting.

Let's grab the numbers first from Random.org

The 4 winners of the Strawberry Fields Bundle and their stories are:
  • #8 - Karenfae - I'm not exactly sure when I started sewing but I think I was about 12 years old - when I was 16 I had learned enough to take apart a navy blue wool pleated skirt, press the fabric flat and made a pair of bell bottom pants out of it! That's impressive!! - Shawna

  • #51 - Mary on Lake Pulaski - I started sewing when I was ten years old. Started making clothes for my troll (does that tell you how OLD I am?)! Not at all :) - Shawna

  • #562 - Calikisses - I started sewing a few years ago. I am a huge purse person, collecting whatever cute ones I find wherever I can find them. One day, my friend and I were at the craft store and I saw a pattern for a purse that I really wanted. My friend knows of my obsession and suggested that I try to make it for myself. I had never sewn before and was glad the pattern was for beginners because I still had a hard time with it. Of course, that could also be due to the fact I was working on it with a tiny machine I bought at Target for 30 bucks, not knowing that my sewing was going to turn into an obsession. Anyway, I've been sewing ever since and now design my own purses to make :) I love your story! Can't wait to see pictures :) - Shawna

  • #249 - Little Creatable - I first learned to sew when I was pregnant with my daughter. I wanted to make something for the baby that would be useful and personal. That is awesome! - Shawna

And our special blogger gift goes to the person closed to 524 that blogged about our giveaway:
  • #534 - Siobhan from The Cotton Bobbin - Well, my grandmother taught me how to sew, knit and crochet. She was an amazing lady with so much talent and patience. I always wanted to try quilting so I started checking out some amazing blogs and thought I would give it a go. I made my first quilt this year and loved every minute of it. Then I set up a blog page, joined Flickr and here I am. I have just joined a Skill Builder Sampler and I am enjoying learning new techniques.  I love all your gorgeous pictures, thank you! - Shawna

Third, we need to grab our winner from the create your own blog giveaway!

Congrats Marsha who just started up her blog and is doing a great job at I've Gone Quilting.

Thank you EVERYONE that joined in on the fun and thank you for your patience with me :))

I will be posting our next giveaway within the next hour and I do hope you will join in on the fun!

Winners: Please email me your name, phone number, and addresses so we can get your gifts out right away!
