I started sewing in middle school and began quilting about 11 years ago. Quilting is my passion.
Just blogged about the fantastic giveaway!
http://farmgirltransplant.blogspot.com/2011/06/links-to-giveaways.html
I remember being about 4 and sewing baby doll clothes by hand. Now that I think about it I never put a hem on those dresses - but at that age I didn't notice. I've always loved sewing!!
I started sewing when I was in elementary school. I was staying at my grandmother's one summer for several weeks and she helped me make my first set of placemats. She was also the one who taught me how to work clay on a spinning wheel, grow tomatoes, tell a story, make costumes, etc, etc. She was quite an amazing, creative woman!
I'm already a follower!
I started sewing in high school a long time ago. I made a lot of my own clothes once working. About six years ago I started making tote bags using charm squares. Last year I finally made a quilt for my granddaughter and am currently working on two quilts one of which is a Schnibble pattern using Strawberry Fields charm packs. I just love quilting. Thank you for the chance at your giveaway.
I always admired quilts but thought, "I could never do that!" But my dear husband encouraged me to take a course. Four lessons later, I was hooked. I love quilting!
i started sewing in december. i've made potholders, a floor cushion, bags, shorts, buntings, various stuffed animals and a bucket hat so far-i love it! i tried my hand at some quilted patchwork potholders and i'm hooked. i can't wait to try an actual quilt.
thanks for the giveaway chance!
i'm a blog follower!

I started sewing when I was about 7 or 8 by making doll clothes and doing some embroidery by hand. I really got into it in jr. high school and beyond when I started taking home economics courses.

I'm a stay at home mom with 3 children, 1(daughter 33yrs old) out on her own and the other 2(sons 16 and 12) still in school. I worked for 35yrs in preparing tax returns for my dad's H & R Block Office, loan consultant, insurance agent, and bookkeeping. Gave it all up to Quilt. It is so nice to make something that everybody enjoys looking at. I have been quilting for 13yrs now. This was pasted down from a great grandmother, great aunt, cousin and mother. I just started my Blog 2 days ago. It is so confusing. I'm really glad you are going to go over how to do a Blog!!!!!!! I'll be back. I'm also trying The Jelly Roll Quilt, its sounds great.

My mum helped me sew a pair of simple cotton shorts when I was 10 and I have been making clothes since that day. A good friend taught me the quilting basics when I was 20 and now I am hooked on sewing quilts too.
I also follow this blog
I started quilting in the late 70's - in high school home-ec, although I had wanted to learn long before that! There is quite a funny story about it, but it is kind of long, but if you really want to hear it you can read it here:
http://thedote.blogspot.com/2011/05/june-star.html
I started to sew when I was in high school when I took sewing in HomeEC. We did not have a sewing machine at home so this was my first opportunity to really sew.
When I was younger, I used to make doll clothes by hand I remember getting into hot water because I cut into a blanket to make a snow suit for my doll.
I just signed up to follow your blog
I started sewing in High school... can't remember what my first project was but I think it was a dress. when I was younger my mom made little dresses for my barbie. I was so impressed that's what started me to think of sewing. I could never see sewing something so small today!
I'm also a new follower! Yea!!

I had made a few things, like a skirt for my Barbie and a hat for my mother, when I was around 5 years old. I didn't get serious until I was around 11, and by 8th grade I was making a lot of my own clothes. I made my own 8th grade and high school graduation dresses, and at the time I didn't think it was any big deal. I look back on it now and think "Wow, that was pretty good!". I'm almost a full-time quilter now, and have been for the last 5 years. I still make pajamas for my kids, and I'm an expert Halloween costume maker. I just love to sew!
I am a follower. Have loved your energy in your emails and posts :)
I sewed my official first project in 6th grade home ec class. The infamous terry cloth locker caddy. Terry cloth was a nightmare for us....between the crumbling 1970's quality terry cloth pieces of loopy thread as we are cutting out the pattern in class, to the unserviced sewing machines eating up the loopy fabric and spitting it back out to us in the shape of a birds nest...or worse yet, just eating the fabric until you had to cut the fabric off the machine....we somehow survived the class. And inspite of our experience, some of us were still bit by the sewing bug. The quilting bug however, bit me a tad later in life, only 2 years ago, but have loved learning so much online in blog land. Thank you for adding tutorials on the how-to's of blogging. Bloggers seem to have a whole lotta fun, and I may just have to dip my toes in the water soon:)
I follow you on FB under the name Nancy Sue Bevis Phillips. Thank you for organizing these fun giveaways for us :)
I started sewing around 9 years old, good lord that's almost 50 years ago. I had a fantastic sewing leader in 4-H, who I just saw at the local fair the other day. She gave me a solid base & I haven't looked back. I made my wedding dress & all my girls dresses as well, there were 5 of them. First project which I still have was an apron in a blue print, then a tote bag with grograin ribbon handles and of course we made our scarves & at that time sleeve cuffs which we embroidered with our club name. I started quilting just after we got married, so that was 37 years ago last week, my how time flies.

I love the fabrics you are giving away. I am liking you on FB, thanks for the opportunity.

I first began quilting right after my first son was born. My mil was visiting and we have NOTHING in common, so I was looking for a diversion to keep me from throttling her. She had made a quilt for my husband, so I asked if she would show me how to make one for my new son. The rest, as they say, is history!
I started sewing when I was 26, although I always liked to play in my mom's scrap bin and in my grandmother's sewing room. I may have done some hand sewing then, but I'm sure it didn't turn out well. My neighbor introduced me to sewing, when I was expecting my first child. I am glad she did! My interest and time for hobbies comes and goes, but quilting seems to be my favorite!
I like you on FB, and follow on there! sewsomuch
I made my first quilt when I was in the 7th grade as part of an elective for my homeschooling. I made a couple more over the years but I really got back into quilting May of last year.

Thanks for the giveaway!
I started sewing in Jr. High and have sewn off and on ever since. I just took up quilting again after a long hiatus while I taught school for 14 years.
I am a follower. :)
I found a doll quilt I made when I was........5 maybe? Fast forward to me at 23 making my first real quilt.....fast forward to me again at 30-something starting all over :o) Beautiful fabric. Thank you for the chance to own a bit.
I sort of fell into quilting and sewing a few years ago. My mother had tried to teach me when I was a teen and I was just not interested. A few years ago I was searching for something to relax and occupy me durring a very difficult time in my life so I gave quilting a try, and I am still loving it!
I already get your newsletter
I liked you on facebook long ago and I still like you!
Well my mom always sewed when I was younger and I don't clearly remember my first project but I know I was under 10. Now the first quilt I actually made wasn't until I was 19, my mom had bought me a quilt kit for my birthday and I fell in love.

love your deals! started sewing when I was 10yrs old. rec'd a Kenmore sewing machine for high school graduation, used it all through college, through home decorating years, then only used it for patching holes while raising 3 sons (except for annual pjs due to their long long legs & arms). In January 2011 started quilting!
following your blog!
liked you on FB
and of course I have a quilting blog: http://FabricFulfillingItsDestiny.blogspot.com
sure hope I win one of your treasures! Thank you.
oh, but my blog needs some therapy... so I look forward to your blog advice & tutorials. thank you again.
I started sewing in elementary school sometime around 5th grade. My mom/grandma showed me how to make some Barbie clothes. I really sewed more in high school and then on and off for several years. I guess I've been quilting on and off for about five years, but last year and this year I've been more consistent with actually learning more about the different techniques. I really enjoy it and wish I had more time to spend on it.
I "Like" you on FB.
I don't tweet or blog but whenever someone mentions you in their blog I comment on how great you are:0) Thanks for sharing!
I already follow your blog! Thanks for the giveaway!
I like you on Facebook!

I think I started quilting about 2001 or 2002.
I'm a follower.
I follow you on FB.
I started sewing at about 5 with my mother. We would sit in the laundrette at the weekend with a group of other women and girls and babies - quite the social group chatting and knitting or sewing ,passing round the occasional comic between the children. a whole afternoon or morning would pass like this.
I learned to sew with my mom...and then in elementary school started my formal training...then all through jr hi and senior hi ;) Learned how to quilt by myself ;)
Wow....over 680 comments............I like you on Facebook
and of course I follow your blog............so fun!
I never saw you post winners to the Strawberry Fields and Bella Solids - who were the lucky winners?
